"Sylvie!" I yell as I run through the door. "Sylvie! We need to talk!" Sylvie rounds the corner, looking concerned. "What? What is it?" The look on my face translates everything. Sylvie’s expression goes from concerned to horrified. "They found you, didn’t they," she says. I can only nod. "We need to go. Pack your bag. We are going to the vacation house. It’ll take about a half hour, so bring something to do," she says, then walks to her bedroom. Before she enters, she turns back to me. "Stay safe. I don’t want anything to happen to you Ash." She closes her door, and I’m left in the hallway alone. A thousand thoughts are reeling through my head. I don’t know what to feel. I don’t know what to think. All I know is that I have to leave. I navigate my way to my room an close the door behind me. I grab my duffel bag from under my bed and start packing. It doesn’t take long. When I’m done, I throw the bag next to the door and flop down on the bed. My mind keeps going back to Felix. What is it about him? There is a chip on his shoulder for sure, but why? How could a perfect guy like him have such a dark past? At that thought I almost laughed. That’s my life, I think to myself. My situation is so pathetically sad it’s almost funny. "Ash! Time to go!" I hear Sylvie call. I grab the bag and rush down to meet her at the door. "Ready?" She asks. I sigh. "As ready as I’ll ever be."
"Ow!" Felix yells. I glare at him, my fury finally spilling over. "What the hell was that for! I had the right to rip that guy apart! You don’t know anything!" I scream, taking off down the hallway. Felix follow me, trying to keep up. "Wait!" He yells. I try to ignore him and practically jump down the stairs. I’m met with five new faces. I come to a halt, Felix beside me. "Shit," I hear him say. "Hello. My name is Nathan Greenoak. I’m here to bring a female Shadowhunter back to Idris. That must be you. What is your name?" said a man with graying hair. "Go to hell," I say. Then I bolt for the stairs. Reed reached the top as soon as I did. "Nice try, little-" he started, but punch him before he can finish. He goes down, and I keep running. I can hear the people in pursuit, but I focus on only where I’m going. I take a sharp left, and go up a flight of stairs towards a large room. Thankfully, the window is open. Without thinking, I jump out, leaving my pursuers in the room. I land gracefully in a crouch. I look up and see seven faces staring in awe. I stare back for a moment, then take off. Anywhere is better then there. And anyway, I have to talk with Sylvie. We have some things to discuss. Shadowhunter things.
